About me
Jim Morel first found his love for metalwork at the young age of 14, when it was offered as a subject in his school, in Cape Town, South Africa. This gave way to a developing passion, which taught many skills from technical drawings, understanding metallurgy and the ability to turn pieces of metal into artistic and/or functioning pieces.
Later on, in the year 1999 in the Garden Route Town of Knysna, he started up Armadillo Steelcraft, which grew enormously in a short period of time and manufactured everything from boat trailers and burglar proofing to fine furniture and ornate wrought-iron fences and gates.
Jim and his family emmigrated to Ireland in April 2015. After seeing the potential to bring back traditional metalwork and artworks, The Village Blacksmith was born…
The workshop is run in the countryside of Galway, near Abbeyknockmoy, Tuam. - Services offered nationwide.
